U Lun Gywe is a Grand Art Master in Myanmar, whose work is increasingly gaining traction in the international art market. Having painted for over half a century, he studied under various renowned artists in Myanmar, such as Saya U Thein Han, from 1958 to 1964. After this period of tutelage, he received the rare chance of going to the Central Art Academy in Beijing for a year, studying Eastern Chinese art and philosophy of fine arts. Having painted for over half a century, he studied under various renowned artists in Myanmar, such as Saya U Thein Han, from 1958 to 1964. After this period of tutelage, he received the rare chance of going to the Central Art Academy in Beijing for a year, studying Eastern Chinese art and philosophy of fine arts. In 1971, he went to East Germany to study the restoration of oil paintings, at the same time establishing a firm foundation in Western art history. Today, his paintings are collected by the National Museum Yangon, Myanmar, as well as the Singapore Art Museum, amongs other art institutions of importance.... Read full biography
