Bodifée was the son of Matthias Joseph Bodifée (1826-1906) and Elizabeth Hendriks (1829-1867). Bodifée was the son of Matthias Joseph Bodifée (1826-1906) and Elizabeth Hendriks (1829-1867). Upon graduation, Bodifée set up an atelier in Nieuwer-Amstel. He was quickly recognized for his talents and became affiliated with the Arti et Amicitiae and the Pulchri studio in Den Haag.
