He then studied at the Free Art School of Károly Kernstok, and then under Adolf Fényes in Szolnok. From 1924 on he attended briefly the Paris Académie Julian. A short time later he had a first success, namely in 1925 an exhibition at the prestigious Galerie Bernheim-Jeune. That same year he had a trip to study at the artists' colony of Baia Mare, where he, among others were devoted to outdoor painting, with artist Béla Iványi-Grünwald and István Réti....
