After graduating from the officer's school in St. Petersburg (1904) he served in the artillery units Leib-Guard. He traveled a lot - in 1897/98 he was in Egypt, which truly fascinated him. In 1918 he settled permanently in Poland - first in Wola Pine, and later in Wloclawek. Then he devoted himself completely to painting.
