Andreas Asproftas was born 1919 in Tripimeni and lived in Famagusta where he studied under Tilemanthos Kanthos. He studied medicine at Athens University, but due to the 1940 war had to return to Cyprus, where he once again began contacts with Kanthos and dedicated himself to art and music studies at Perugia, Italy. He taught art for 28 years at various schools in Cyprus, and continued painting throughout this period. His main subject matter in art are nature and country side scenes of Cyprus....
