His style elaborates what arrived in the lagoons by Johann Anton Eismann, Hans de Jode, Ernest Daret, Cornelio Dusman, Jan and Andries Both and Pieter Mulier known as the Cavalier Tempesta, all Nordic landscape painters working in Venice or in its mainland. A man of culture, in addition to painting Pedon was a fine literate although he led a rather unruly life and devoted to vice, perhaps the reason for the fact that the Fraglia dei Pittori saw him registered for only one year, in 1716.
