Colin H. Davidson was born in 1961 in Donaghadee, Co. Down but now lives in East Belfast. Though mainly a self-taught artist, he did attend a local college for a short time. It was here that he discovered his slight colour blindness, making it difficult to identify certain green and brown tones. Serving a four year apprenticeship in Harland & Wolff seems to have had a profound effect on the artist, who has expressed his sincere respect for the men and women who were employed there and the... Serving a four year apprenticeship in Harland & Wolff seems to have had a profound effect on the artist, who has expressed his sincere respect for the men and women who were employed there and the hardships they suffered. This influence can be directly witnessed in his paintings which tend to focus on scenes of ship workers in Belfast.
