Eduard Ender (1822-1883) was a popular Austrian painter and is mainly well-known for his history paintings. Ender was a pupil of his father Johann Ender and studied at the academy in Vienna. Later he went to Paris where he carried on with his education. Around 1844 his works were exhibited in Vienna as well as in Germany and in Paris. Aside from history paintings his oeuvre is characterized by genre paintings, portraits and still lifes. (msc)
