Georg Emil Libert (1820-1908) was a graduate of the class of J. L. Lund of the Royal Danish Academy. He traveled vast parts of Europe and was majorly influenced by the Munich landscape painters. At his lifetime he already exhibited in Charlottenborg and in the Danish Arts Association. The landscape paintings of Baltic islands made him become famous.
