He studied under Ricardo Pellegrini in the school of Brera in Milan, and in Barcelona. He fought in World War I from 1915-1918 in which his right arm was crippled permanently. After much effort after the war he learned to paint with his left hand. He traveled all over the world as a painter. The picture is entitled Tramonto di Marina.
