Heinz Borchers was born in 1898 in Bremen. He attended the local arts and crafts school and then studied at the Bauhaus in Weimar, where the artists Johannes Itten and Lyonel Feininger were his teachers. In 1932 and 1950 Borchers participated in group exhibitions in the Kunsthalle Bremen. Next to paintings influenced by New Objectivity he also created stained glass windows, among others for the Jakobi Church in Kiel and the chapel of the Riensdorfer cemetery in Bremen. (fea)
