Jiri Hilmar, born in 1937 in Hradec Kralove, Czechoslovakia, is an object artist known for his work. He studied at the Prague School of Applied Arts and was a founding member of the ''Club of Concretists'' in Prague in 1969. In 1973, he became a founding member of the artist settlement Halfmannshof. Hilmar received the City of Gelsenkirchen Prize in 1975 and has been a lecturer at the Institute for Art and Material Culture at the University of Dortmund since 2005.
