Lambert Werner's distinctive art belongs to one of the most internationally oriented Swedish 20th century art. He got his earliest artistic impressions at the age of 17 from Gösta Adrian-Nilsson's dynamic art, but it was through contact with Kandinsky and Klee in 1920s Berlin, where he studied medicine for three years, that his artistic vision was liberated and he completely passed to the painting. He got his earliest artistic impressions at the age of 17 from Gösta Adrian-Nilsson's dynamic art, but it was through contact with Kandinsky and Klee in 1920s Berlin, where he studied medicine for three years, that his artistic vision was liberated and he completely passed to the painting. He also occasionally experimented with sculpture under the influence of Archipenko and Zadkine. After studying in Berlin, Lambert Werner moved his business to Paris, where he made his debut at Galerie Mots et Images in 1928 with a dozen lyrical abstractions.
