It is thus, almost inevitably, part of a group of abstract painters who gathered around the tunnel million, represents a fundamental open era in Italian to the most innovative international experiences. Of that group includes Reggiani, Soldiers and Veronesi, more related to geometric abstraction, but Fontana and Melotti, which together with Licini represent the more liberal wing of abstraction, giving way to organic shapes and lyrical movements.
