This double initiation is felt immediately in his work that unites the influence of ambient Symbolism, the mythological world of Moreau and a keen sense of design. The early works of Beronneau as well as those of George Desvallières are heavily indebted to the master street art of La Rochefoucauld. In 1897, Pierre Amedee Marcel-Beronneau exhibited at the last Salon of the Rose + Croix, with much of its congeners Moreau workshop. His work is so very close to that of Maxentius or first Rouault.
