Stanislaw Dybowski was born in 1895. He studied at the Drawing School in Warsaw. He continued his education in Moscow and later at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He traveled to Paris and Italy to continue his studies. He lived in Warsaw and exhibited mainly at the Warsaw "Zacheta", the Lódz City Art Gallery, and the Krakow TPSP. Stanislaw Dybowski was a member of the Pro Arte Artists' Association and continued the traditions of Jan Stanislawski. He painted decorative landscapes with hazy tones, often featuring architectural motifs, and was interested in folklore, painting folk types and interiors of rural, Lowicz, Hutsul, Podhale, Vilnius, Silesian, and Krakow huts. He also created portraits and still lifes. During the Nazi occupation, he earned his living by selling pictures and frames. Many of his works were destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising. He died in 1956.
