In 1897, he founded the Vienna Secesson along with Gustav Klimt, Koloman Moser, Josef Hoffmann, and others. List’s works are clearly influenced by Art Nouveau, and have a similarity to Gustav Klimt’s oeuvre. His favorite subjects were portraits, landscapes and genre paintings.
