He was a landscape painter considered one of the greatest painters of the "school of Stanislavsky." Son of the architect Kazimierz, he learned from his father. In the years 1891-1900 he studied at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts, among others, under the direction of Leon Wyczólkowski, Jacek Malczewski and Jan Stanislawski .
