Wilfred Ball was a London accountant and artist, and exhibited often at the Royal Academy and Fine Art Society. Best-known for his English landscapes, Ball first visited Egypt in 1893, and painted numerous watercolors while there. Upon his return to England, an important exhibition: 'Water Colour Drawings made in Egypt, The Nile, Cairo, Pyramids by Wilfrid Ball', was held at Messrs. Thomas Agnew and Sons, London, in 1895. Upon his return to England, an important exhibition: 'Water Colour Drawings made in Egypt, The Nile, Cairo, Pyramids by Wilfrid Ball', was held at Messrs. Thomas Agnew and Sons, London, in 1895. He returned to Cairo, and then to Khartoum, in 1916 to work on military accounts. He died in 1917.
