Exceptional winter landscape by well known American artist Aldro T. Hibbard (1886-1972). Oil on canvas, signed lower right, title on artist placard & on verso, housed in original giltwood frame with minor gilt touchups. Dimensions: 26 in H x 36 in W, actual; 32 in H x 42 in W x 1.38 in D. Ref: 8

'Icy River (West River, Vermont)' exemplifies Hibbard’s gift for finding elements of beauty in an otherwise commonplace scene. With passages of yellow and pink, he has rendered the sun’s rays falling on the snow, thereby imbuing a chilly winter scene with undeniable warmth and optimism.
