John Appleton Brown ART FOR SALE

This vibrant pastel is likely rendered in the New Hampshire Seacoast or in the North Shore of Massachusetts, and likely in the 1890-1905 period, by the foremost pastel artist of his time. Wolf Kahn owes much to Appleton Brown’s work a century prior.

In the period and with some feeling of Winslow Homer, Appleton Brown was one of our first Impressionists.
