Leon Gaspard studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and traveled extensively through Europe and Asia. After immigrating to the United States in 1916, he settled in Taos, New Mexico, where he became known for his vibrant, richly detailed paintings.
This painting comes from a private collection in Taos—exhibition labels from Fenn Gallery and an artist's estate stamp on the reverse.
