William Johnson Bixbee (1850-1921) painter, illustrator, teacher, was born in 1850 in Manchester, New Hampshire, although he lived most of his life in Boston and Marblehead, Massachusetts. He studied at the Lowell Institute, with Tommaso Juglaris, S. P. Rolt Triscott, and Marcus Waterman.
