He was 92 and lived in Manhattan. During his 60-year career Mr. Feininger photographed a wide range of subjects, from individual portraits to pictures of skyscrapers and seashells. But whatever his subject, he described it with a clarity and precision that were the characteristics of his style. The son of the painter Lyonel Feininger, he was born on Dec. 27, 1906 in Paris.
