He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and then returned to Wyoming in 1980. There he became a part of the Wyoming artist-in-residence program in the public schools. He became Curator of the Ann Simpson Artmobile Program that travels to schools throughout the State, and also does oil and pastel landscape painting.
