For over thirty years, he has traveled extensively to personally experience the actual locations of his works. Cox became fascinated with art at an early age through classic illustrations in books and magazines. Illustrators such as N.C.Wyeth, Norman Rockwell and most especially Tom Lovell, forged his interest in art. However, Cox did not seriously pursue art until he was in his mid thirties because he was in the U.S. Navy for four years and also traveled world wide. Cox became fascinated with art at an early age through classic illustrations in books and magazines. Illustrators such as N.C.Wyeth, Norman Rockwell and most especially Tom Lovell, forged his interest in art. However, Cox did not seriously pursue art until he was in his mid thirties because he was in the U.S. Navy for four years and also traveled world wide.
