He has been awarded a number of prizes, for example the Friedrich-Baur-Prize of the Bavarian Academy of the Fine Arts. His works are in the possession of national and international museum collections. The Oskar-Koller-Museum is located in Kallmünz. The estate of his total work is managed by the Art Museum Erlangen.
