Monaldi found great success amongst the patrons of the Palazzo Rospigliosi and the Palazzo Braschi. Besides, he was also active for the Accademia di San Luca. Today, Monaldi is especially well-known for his Bambocciata painting. On the basis of Lanzi, Stefano Ticozzi cited him as 'not ignoble painter bambocciate' in his Dictionary of Painters (1818). He died c. 1779.
