In 1950 he moved to France, studied art in Paris, first at the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs (Decorative Arts 1951-1957) and then at the École des Beaux-Arts. He worked in clay, plaster, stone (in 1964, he made sculptures using a technique of which he is the inventor: the fusion of granite) but in all, he preferred metal.
