    Anton Braith (b.1836 / d.1905)

    Anton Braith was born on September 2, 1836 in Biberach, Germany. During his childhood, Braith was a cowboy with his father.

    In 1851, Braith received a scholarship studying drawing at the Art School in Stuttgart. His teachers were Bernhard von Neher, Heinrich von Rustige and Heinrich Funk.

    With a fellow student Albert Kappis, Braith moved to Munich in 1860. While in Munich, he met Christian Mali, and the two were friends for the rest of their lives. They were in the artists colony, Brannenburg, Pang and Aresing. Here, Braith did many paintings on the colony and outdoors.
