    Sculptor, Apelles Fenosa (1899-1988), developed his artistic career between Barcelona and France, although in 1921 he settled in Paris. In 1917 he founded a group "Evolutionists" with three other Catalan sculptors all desiring to overcome the artistic proposals of Modernism. He made frequent exhibitions in Spain and France, and maintained a good relationship with Picasso.

    In 1936, on the eve of the Spanish Civil War, he participated in the Venice Biennale, and in 1981 performed on request of UNESCO granescultura "Olive Tree" which since then the award is given to the winner of Education for peace. In 1982 he received the Gold Medal of the Generalitat of Catalonia. In 1983 the French government award...
