Bjorn Ahlgrensson was born in 1872, in Sweden. His parents (involved in decorative painting and acting), raised him in a Bohemian environment, partly in Paris. It was only natural that when he embarked on an artistic path, he chose the Artist's League School in Stockholm which had broken away from, in the opinion of his parents, the inflexible teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts. After Bjorn completed his training at the Stockholm School, he received a travel grant in 1893, that made it possible for him to return to Paris.
