It was only natural that when he embarked on an artistic path, he chose the Artist's League School in Stockholm which had broken away from, in the opinion of his parents, the inflexible teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts. It was only natural that when he embarked on an artistic path, he chose the Artist's League School in Stockholm which had broken away from, in the opinion of his parents, the inflexible teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts. After Bjorn completed his training at the Stockholm School, he received a travel grant in 1893, that made it possible for him to return to Paris. Though his time in Paris was short, Bjorn met and took inspiration from both Ivan Aguéli and Olof Sager Nelson, representatives of the so-called synthetic Semitism.
