About Bob Barlow

  • Biography

    A worldwide traveler for subject matter, Bob Barlow is a Wyoming native whose family were pioneer ranchers. He was given oil paints as a child, and did a lot of copying of work by Charles Russell and Will James. After graduating from high school, he attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He also got a degree in business at the University of Wyoming in Laramie and then joined the Army where he was stationed in Maryland and spent a lot of time in museums and painting in his spare hours.

    From his studio in Gillette he creates dramatic western landscape, but he travels frequently for other landscape subjects to places including the Orient, East Africa, Russia, Caribbean, and Eastern Europe. Barlow resides in Prague for seve...
