About Eric Hopkins

  • Biography

    A native Maine-island painter, Eric Hopkins was born on North Haven and traveled and studied widely in the United States before returning to live in his home town. He works primarily in watercolor, and with a love of flying, does aerial views of island landscapes.

    He was a student at the University of Southern Maine; the Montserrat School of Visual Arts in Beverly, Massachusetts; Marlboro College in Vermont; and the Rhode Island School of Design. In Rhode Island, he studied glass blowing with Dale Chihuly and sculpture with Italo Scanga.
