About Gil Dellinger

  • Biography

    A graduate of the San Francisco State University M.A. program, Gil Dellinger became a full professor at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, where he taught courses in drawing and painting. After receiving the Distinguished Faculty Award for professional contributions and teaching excellence in 1990, and the Everhart Teacher/Scholar Award in 1995, Dellinger retired from teaching in 2000.

    He then was named a trustee of the Haggin Museum in Stockton, and was active in organizing a series of plein-air exhibitions. One of them was a three-year project in Yosemite Valley in which 25 artists painted the park within that time period. An exhibition of these works was held at the Haggin in 2001.
