Vangi studied at the Academy in Florence and took part in many national and international exhibitions since 1967, including a. 1977 at the "documenta 6" in Kassel. He created many of his sculptures for public spaces and buildings in Italy and Germany. In 1998 he received the Feltrinelli Prize for Sculpture.
