    Gregor Torsten Schade, also known as Gregor Torsten Schade-Adelsberg, was a German artist born in 1948 in Hildburghausen/Thuringia. He spent his childhood in Streufdorf but was forced to resettle to Leipzig in 1954. Schade apprenticed as an offset retoucher from 1965-67 while attending the Evening Academy of the Academy of Visual Arts (HGB) Leipzig. He then studied at the HGB Leipzig from 1967-72 with Fritz Fröhlich, Hans Mayer-Foreyt, and Gerhard Brose. After his studies, he became a freelance artist and moved to Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz) in 1974. In 1976, he co-founded the artists' group "Clara Mosch" and in 1980, he married Vera-H.
