    Julia Lopez was born in 1936 in Mexico. Julia is a self-taught Mexican painter who lived the peak time of the Generation of the Rupture, nevertheless its style was much more marked by the movement of the muralism. In 1952, she met Frida Kahlo, who recommended her to pose as a model at La Esmeralda. There, in addition to learning to draw, she became acquainted with various artists, making friends with Vlady, Alberto Gironella, José Luis Cuevas and Chucho Reyes. Since 1959, she has performed more than 30 solo exhibitions in various cities in Mexico, the United States, Portugal and Italy.Source consulted: FLOWERS, Lark.
