    Klaus Rinke's "sculptural paintings" challenge the imaginary and illusory qualities of painting while examining the real and tangible nature of sculpture. "Painting is always about making present an imaginary world," Rinke said of the work. "In contrast, the interesting thing about sculpture is that it really lives. That it is different every time- in the morning, at midday, in the evening, and at night." Rooted in minimal conceptual ideas, Rinke has consistently explored the nature of time; the disruption, fluidity, structure, and order of time.
