    Nicola Galante was born in Vasto province of Chieti, in 1883. He trained as a cabinet maker at the School of Applied Arts in Chieti.

    In 1912, he created his first woodcuts. A year later, he began to study with the futuristic painter and illustrator Ardegno Sioffici.

    In 1922, Galante turned to painting. His artwork was initially influenced by Cézanne, Braque, and the French impressionism. Starting in the 1940's, the structure of his picture became more flat, the colors increasingly turned pure and bright, rather related to the Fauves.

    Nicola Galante’s range of subject matters include mainly landscapes and still life.
