Nicola Galante was born in Vasto province of Chieti, in 1883. He trained as a cabinet maker at the School of Applied Arts in Chieti. In 1912, he created his first woodcuts. A year later, he began to study with the futuristic painter and illustrator Ardegno Sioffici. In 1922, Galante turned to painting.
