    Pierre Félix Fix-Masseau was born March 17, 1869 in Lyon. Fix-Masseau's paintings featured mostly still life and floral subjects, while his sculptures were more figural. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, and traveled throughout Holland, Switzerland, and Italy. He became director of the Ecole Nationale d'Art Decoratif of Limoges in 1935. Fix-Masseau exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Français, and also in 1890 at the Sociéte des Beaux Arts, of which he became a member. He was made an officer of the Legion of Honor.
