    Ruth DeWitt Hogan may have grown up in Texas, far from Cape Cod, but Cape Cod artistry was in her genes. Her great aunt, Elizabeth Howland Caliga, was one of the original Provincetown Printmakers and Ruth Hogan spent many of her childhood summers in the fifties and sixties visiting her and her prominent portrait artist husband, Henry Caliga, in the well-known artists' colony, Provincetown. It was there among the magnificent rolling dunes, the encompassing blue-green Atlantic and the plethora of multi-hued flowers set amidst the town's pastel-colored houses that her life-long absorption with color and light was born.
