Her great aunt, Elizabeth Howland Caliga, was one of the original Provincetown Printmakers and Ruth Hogan spent many of her childhood summers in the fifties and sixties visiting her and her prominent portrait artist husband, Henry Caliga, in the well-known artists' colony, Provincetown.
