He attended Red Wing Seminary in Red Wing, Minnesota, studying business and law until 1892. Rolle served during the Spanish-American War with the 3rd U.S. Infantry at Fort Snelling, Minnesota and fought in a small police action against the Chippewa tribe. He attended Red Wing Seminary in Red Wing, Minnesota, studying business and law until 1892.
