After the war he stayed there to take art history at the American Academy in Florence. He married Helen Crawford Davis who also worked at the airplane factory August 22, 1942. After the war he began working in industrial design and then as staff artist at the Bristol Virginia, Tennessee Herald-Courier and later the Bristol Virginia-Tennessean.
