Born in Newton, Kansas, John Bashor is a painter and art educator who received his formal training at Washburn University and the University of Iowa and then taught art at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas (1954-1966). He moved to Bozeman, Montana where in 1966, he became Director of the School of Art at Montana State University, and also became an established painter.
