Painter. Born in Shavli, Russia on Sept. 1, 1887. Sacks arrived in Philadelphia when he was a boy. Following studies at the PAFA under Anshutz, Chase, and Kendall, he spent several years in Europe on an art scholarship. He won considerable fame in Philadelphia as a portraitist during the Teens.
