Cohnen, son of the saddler, upholsterer and decorator Peter Joseph Cohnen and his wife Maria, née Jammers, studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. There he was a student of Eduard von Gebhardt and Julius Paul Junghanns, most recently a master student of Adolf Münzer. In 1911/1912 he stayed in Alsace for study purposes.... Read full biography

Cohnen, son of the saddler, upholsterer and decorator Peter Joseph Cohnen and his wife Maria, née Jammers, studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy.
